Trinity Lutheran Church of Tema
Monday, 24 November 2008 08:05

Tema, the home town of the Trinity Lutheran Church, is a big city, the population is well over 200 000. It is an important industrial city, aluminum, refined petroleum, chemicals, and building materials are produced there. Tema harbour is the busiest in Ghana and most of the country's chief export, cacao, is shipped from Tema. Tema is a good place to set up business/industries of any choice, the working conditions are very conducive.

The Trinity Lutheran Church of Tema is situated in community two. The number of registered members is around two hundred. Due to its small size all the members are very active and everybody has a special role in the parish life. There are meetings every evening at the church.

A visit to Ghana in October, 2008
Sunday, 26 October 2008 22:48

The visit to Ghana in October was very rewarding. There was no "dark and rainy" autumn in Ghana. The weather was hot, the sun was shining and we could enjoy the light.

One of the best and most touching things during our trip was a visit to Trinity Lutheran Church of Tema. Our Ghanaian brothers and sisters show their christianity in normal everyday life, too, they are filled with joy and peace, harmony and love.

The water project had its official opening ceremony. We also took part in a stakeholders' meeting in Dodowa, Dangme-West. We hope Sota community will have water by the end of August, 2009.

The opening of the water project

Our godchildren and the relatives taking care of them were all fine. The new schoolbuilding was ready, so now it is possible for children to get basic school education in their own village. We brought books, excecise books, pens and pencils etc. with us for the school. More books and shelves would be neededto the library, cupboards, manilla boards to classrooms, ballpoint pens, felt pens, mathematical sets etc.etc.
